Haitian Vodou Contemporary Folk Art by Lesly Pierre Paul
32 x 24 inches
New Vision Art School was formed in 2016 as a nonprofit organization to help the local children and people of Port-au-Prince Haiti. The students are taught by the magnificent artist Lesly Pierre Paul. The art work focuses on Haitian culture, traditional Haitian folk art, and Haitian Vodou.
"In one of the Languages of our Ancestors, “Fon”, Vodou means “Researching the Unknown”.
In one other Language, it means “Worshipping Spirits."
Some mystic explorers claim that Vodou existed even before Humanity, that it is the tool used by God to create the Universe.
In the same way, others say that Vodou is Magic, that it is secret knowledge hidden in Nature.
We understand Vodou to be the way Haitian people explains the Universe."
-from the book Ti Limyé Sou Vodou
Loa love art and in my experience touch us very easily through it when they want to. Add a little magic to your life with a charitable donation to New Vision Art School through an art work purchase that reaches out to you. All proceeds from art sales go directly to New Vision Art School and the individual artist.
